Factory Upgrade Adds Automated Assembly Lines and In-House Motor Testing
NANTONG, JIANGSU | PRODUCTION AND QUALITY CONTROL

Nantong Shengqiang Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has completed an upgrade of its production lines and quality-control infrastructure this year, adding automatic assembly stations, a motor test bench, dedicated aging rooms and an incoming-material laboratory on the same 15,000 sqm site.

The investment responds to sustained growth in overseas orders for cordless power tools and oil-free air compressors, where buyers increasingly ask for documented test data rather than a visual inspection at the end of the line.

What changed on the floor
01
Automatic assembly stations
Added on the tool and compressor lines, reducing manual handling at the fitting stage.
02
Motor performance testers
Every motor is now bench-tested for speed, current draw and temperature before assembly.
03
Finished-goods aging rooms
Dedicated rooms run completed units under load instead of spot-checking the line.
04
Incoming-material laboratory
Raw components are measured and documented before they reach the production floor.
Quality control in four stages

The whole workflow now runs under ISO 9001 procedures, with each stage recorded against the batch number:

01
Incoming inspection
Material and components checked against drawing and specification.
02
On-line sampling
Units pulled at each station during mass production; faults stopped at source.
03
Load and aging
Finished products run under load and through continuous aging cycles.
04
Pre-packing safety check
Safety detection before packing; non-conforming units isolated and removed.

"The point of the upgrade is not more machines. It is that a problem is caught at the station where it happens, not after the container is loaded."

What it means for buyers

Monthly output capacity has increased, and the plant can now schedule large-volume OEM and ODM programmes without pushing standard catalogue orders back. Multi-level inspection runs through mass production rather than being concentrated at final packing, so a defect found in week one is corrected before week four.

Production planning is still handled in-house, which means a change of specification, packaging or artwork is confirmed by the people running the line - and delivery dates are quoted from actual station capacity, not an estimate.

Manufacturing processes continue to be revised as international standards and market feedback change. The current focus is stable output for importers in North America, South America, Japan and Europe, on both standard items and fully customised private-label projects.
